For the first time since the beginning of the migration of millions of wildebeests to and from Kenya’s  Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the 1970s, wildebeests have come to Calve in Masai Mara, for sure this is another wonder. Call it 8th or 9th wonder, the animals are here in the month of February and not even late June or early July as always been the tradition.
Annually about two million Wildebeests cross the Mara River to the Reserve from Serengeti plains in Tanzania to graze and mate and later return to Serengeti to Calve.
Alas!! this time, hundreds of Wildebeests that return to Loita area in October when the rest cross over to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania have returned very early to Maasai Mara to Calve. This is really a blessing to Kenya as now you can see hundreds of the animals moving and grazing and more so, calving in Maasai Mara, which is a rare scenario in Masai Mara.
For those who wish to avoid, the high season rates to see the 7th Wonder, start packing we go visit the Mara. All roads leads to Maasai Mara.
